Even in the worst economy it is hard to imagine that we are so desperate that we are willing to sell these two pieces of property for almost HALF the appraised value. Yes … the old Lakeville fire house and the storage building (9 and 9a Sharon Road) are shown on the most current tax card to be worth $796,900.00!
Forgetting my Workforce Housing idea, consider that this is PRIME COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE in the most densely occupied commercial area of Lakeville, located next to the Town Grove and Ball Field, on a major intersection …
Is Salisbury so squeezed for cash that we have to sell at such a discounted price? The more I study and think about this the more strange it seems to me.
While I personally favor Workforce Apartments there, you should consider what I have just written here and wonder to yourself why our leaders are so willing to literally give this property away.
Imagine the bids we might have received had others realized the potential to STEAL this property from the town!
