Have the Salisbury Selectmen already decided who is going to buy the old fire house?

My little town of Salisbury gets more interesting every day … Our Board of Selectmen (minus one) adopted
a process to ‘fast track’ the sale of the old Fire House in downtown Lakeville.

The process was seriously flawed (as two of us who attended their meeting pointed out to them), but they passed it anyway.  They have since issued their final version of the process which seems to indicate (and I am not the only one who has said this) that they already have a good idea of who they want to sell it to.

Worse (to me) is the fact that I have presented to both the Board of Selectmen and The Affordable Housing Commission the idea of turning the building into Affordable Apartments.  The idea has been dismissed by both units … I guess that tells you how much they really want Affordable Housing!

You can access their final document at this link and judge for yourself.

rumor is they do have an offer so why not be upfront and say it got less than asking price for luke house so why should old firehouse be any different. watched the video of meeting and looked as if selectman got ther hand caught in the cookie jar again but whats new

    • It sure seems that the process was crafted … much like the job description for someone we have recently hired … Of course … this is only MY opinion!
